Oy Scancool Ab signs contract with Ruokakesko Oy

Oy Scancool Ab has signed a contract with Ruokakesko Oy on the renovation of the refrigeration equipment of a logistics centre in Vantaa. Oy Scancool AB is the main contractor and in charge of the overall operations on the site. The deal comprises a complete machine house and the required HVAC technology, 2 Grasso FX PP 1100 NH3 ammonia solution chillers (total cooling capacity 1500 kW), 3 liquid chillers and almost a hundred air coolers in the storage premises. The size of the site is reflected in the amount of piping: there will about 3 kilometres of RST pipe. In addition, Scancool will supply a complete remote control system for the refrigeration plant. The factory-made Grasso water chillers make for a very small cooling medium fill requirement of 230 kg. The plant has been designed with a view of minimal energy consumption and maximal reliability.

The deal is an important project to the new Southern Finland unit, which started operating last July. The challenge is increased by the logistics centre being in operation 24 hours a day, seven days a week during the renovation. As the main contractor, Scancool is in charge of adapting the schedule of the project to the requirements of the user without interfering with the operation of the storehouse.
