The prime minister opens a series of seminars on emission reducing solutions in Vaasa 5.8 - Scancool present to tell how the industry recovers waste heat
Energy efficiency protects the environment:
A marked reduction in greenhouse gas emissions is required. This results in many costs, but also benefits such as job creation and export opportunities. Energy efficiency also gives savings to consumers due to rising energy costs. Finland can make this challenge into an opportunity by acting in the right way at the right time.
Concrete solutions to reduce emissions will be presented by the government at three seminars during this autumn. The series begins with an energy efficiency seminar organized in conjunction with the Vaasa residential fair on 5. august. The gathering is opened by prime minister Matti Vanhanen.
Protecting the environment requires substantial improvements in the energy efficiency of construction, transportation, industry and households. There are hundreds of companies in Finland that develop and sell real products and services that reduce emissions. This autumn's seminar series will give a voice to companies that show us that it is possible to profit from the fight against global warming.
The seminar is on tuesday 5. august 2008 10:30 am-13:00 pm at the auditorium of hotel Silveria in Vaasa, Ruutikellarintie 4
